CN Canadian Women’s Open Rocked The Vote

Fans rate Canadian event second amongst all LPGA events in 2008

Oakville, Ont. (RCGA) - Canadian golf fans showed their support for Canada’s only LPGA Tour stop by casting their vote in the LPGA’s “Rock the Fan Vote 2008”, making the CN Canadian Women’s Open at the Ottawa Hunt Golf Club the second best ranked golf tournament of the 2008 LPGA tour season.

In previous years, golf tournaments were rated solely by LPGA players. The Rock the Fan Vote was introduced this past year as a way for all tournament organizers to interact with fans attending LPGA Tour events. LPGA golf fans logged on to the LPGA Fan vote website and ranked their golf tournament experience in 10 important categories.

“We’re ecstatic that the fans showed their appreciation for last years event,” said Sean Van Kesteren, Tournament Director, CN Canadian Women’s Open, “Our team did an exceptional job and worked hard to make the CN Canadian Women’s Open at the Ottawa Hunt Golf Club a fun and memorable tournament for everyone. We look forward to this year’s event in Calgary with the determination to make it the best experience on the LPGA tour.”

The Rock the Fan Vote survey ranked which of the 34 LPGA events in the 2008 season gave fans the best all around tournament experience. Areas of focus included promotion of the LPGA event and entertainment for fans. Feedback from the survey for the 2008 CN Canadian Women’s Open will be used to assist with planning the 2009 CN Canadian Women’s Open in Calgary.
