MARKHAM, ON - The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce the release of the 2010 National tournament schedule. Once again, the CJGA will provide unmatched junior opportunities for junior golfers aged 5-19 right across Canada with over 80 events on the schedule. The Junior Tour (boys and girls aged 11-19) will have over 60 events across Canada to participate in while the Junior Linkster Tour (boys and girls aged 5-13) will have 20 events across the country.

There will be a number of fantastic events CJGA members can participate in throughout the season, including the NIKE Golf Junior Series, PUMA Challenge, Humber College Invitational, PING CJGA Canadian Junior Match Play Championship, Mizuno CJGA National Golf Championship, NIKE Golf Junior Championship and the Lipton Brisk Canada Cup.

In 2010, juniors will have the chance to play a golf course that the pro’s play! The CJGA will be heading to Bear Mountain Resort in Victoria, British Columbia, home of the 2010 Telus World Skins, just two weeks before the Skins event.

CJGA members will also be eligible for unmatched international competition in 2010 including the Stephen Ames Cup (Trinidad & Tobago), Euro Junior Golf Cup (Scotland), Junior World Golf Championships (United States), Tri Nations cup (South Africa), and the Canadian International Junior Challenge (Canada) just to name a few.

“We continue to move forward with the support of our members and sponsors,” said Earl Fritz, Executive Director of the CJGA. “Junior golfers in this country will have no shortage of options for tournament competition this summer and we’re excited about the prospects of another successful season both within Canada and on the international stage.”

All CJGA events will continue to be ranked on Junior Golf Scoreboard in 2010. As well, there will be RCGA Future Links Order of Merit points available, Golfweek ranked events, along with AJGA exemptions and performance stars available at certain events. Check back on the CJGA website in the New Year for further details.

Registration will open up online for the events starting January 1, 2010. With the majority of the events filling up on a first come, first serve basis we encourage juniors to register early to avoid missing out on an event.
