RBC Insurance Partners with Royal Canadian Golf Association

Tailored home and auto insurance solutions designed for golfers

Oakville, Ont. (RCGA) – RBC Insurance today announced that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) to offer a group home and auto insurance program, specifically designed for golfers, to the association’s 332,000 adult members.

“We’re proud to be partnering with the RCGA to assist them in enhancing their member benefit programs,” said Neil Skelding, president and CEO, RBC Insurance. “This is the first time we’ve created a customized insurance product for a specific association. It’s an important relationship and we look forward to helping support golf in Canada.”

Under this new agreement, RBC Insurance Company of Canada will provide RCGA members with home and auto insurance coverage both on and off the course. The custom-tailored program includes coverage such as loss, theft or damage to a member’s golf clubs and accessories, and fire and theft coverage for a member’s personal effects stored at their RCGA member club. It will also give members the ability to recover their annual dues on a pro rated basis should they experience health problems during the golf season and be unable to play.

RCGA members will also benefit from discounts on their personal home and auto insurance products.“On behalf of the RCGA and our 1,600 golf clubs, representing nearly 332,000 members, we are thrilled to partner with RBC Insurance on this new initiative,” said Scott Simmons, executive director and CEO, RCGA. “We recognize that our members are more than just golfers and we see this partnership as a way of adding value to their membership both on and off the golf course.”

As part of the agreement, RCGA members who obtain a quote for home or auto insurance will be eligible to enter a VIP sweepstakes for a chance to win one of two PGA prize packages. The first is a trip for two to the 2009 British Open in Turnberry, Scotland. The contest winner will have a once in a lifetime experience of flying back with the pros on the RBC Canadian Open player charter. The second prize package is a VIP trip for two to the 2009 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey.
