Black Mountain Golf Club, Kelowna BC is teed up to Open this Saturday, June 6th!

Melcor Developments Ltd. is pleased to announce that Black Mountain Golf Club will be launching its complete public play daily fee golf course this Saturday, June 6th in Kelowna, BC.

At the centerpiece of the master-planned golfing community is the magnificent 18-hole, Par 71 Championship golf course. Taking its cue from the natural topography and vegetation of the land, the 6,394 yard course is dramatically sculpted into the Okanagan landscape, and features a signature island green.

Designed by Cooke Carleton International, Black Mountain’s challenging lay-out consists of six – Par 3’s, seven – Par 4’s and five – Par 5’s and has four tee box locations on each hole to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Black Mountain’s signature hole is the par 4 – 5th playing at 372 yards it features the Okanagan’s only island green.

“Black Mountain is a diverse site in a wonderful setting. I felt that there was great opportunity to create a very enjoyable memorable golf experience that required strategy and shot making to be successful”, said Wayne Carleton, Course Architect. “It will not be a course that you can over-power but, one that will require thought, strategy and patience to be successful.”

“With over 165 feet of elevation changes, Black Mountain has some breath taking views with truly amazing holes,” adds General Manager, Eric Thorsteinson. “I’m extremely excited to be part of this spectacular development and to add Black Mountain to the long list of tremendous golf courses in the Okanagan.”

Black Mountain Golf Club will officially open on Saturday, June 6th.
